How Health Professionals Can Navigate Multiple Relationships and Ethical Boundaries Across Campus

The ethics of multiple relationships in healthcare professions has historically received significant attention, particularly from a “do no harm” risk management approach. Less attention has been paid to multiple relationships in university healthcare settings, where they are frequent and unavoidable. The presentation will address both a risk management and positive ethics approach, including a brief history of multiple relationships, defining terminology, sharing real world examples, and applying an ethical decision making model to case studies.
